We have put our noggins together and compiled a list of our top 10 unique countries you should visit. A lot of these won’t be your standard everyday destinations, but they really can offer so much more than your standard package holiday. Whether you want to experience new things, or walk the path less traveled, all of these countries can give you a unique and exciting holiday experience.
The home of the breath-taking, magnificent Victoria falls – named after, you’ve guessed it, Queen Victoria herself – Zambia is full to the brim with rugged landscapes and diverse wildlife. If you prefer a holiday filled with exploration and adventure rather than beach side resorts look no further than Zambia.
Well known for its impressive architecture and hectic travel arrangements, there is even more to India than meets the eye. As much fun as it is to allow yourself to be engulfed in the dizzying chaotic streets of the cities, a trip to the Indian Himalayan Region is a must, relax and enjoy the wonders of nature.
What do you think when you think of Japan? Bullet trains? High-rise filled city scenes? Amazing food? Rich culture? I thought so. What better reasons do you need to visit a county so steeped in cultural diversity. There are few other countries in the world where there is such a beautiful contrast of cultures old and new.
This may be a bit of an obvious one, but I still feel that it is a majorly overlooked destination for a lot of people. It is best to visit between November and February to be in with the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights.
If the tranquil mountainous landscapes aren’t enough to make you want to visit, surely the exquisite cuisine and love of the arts are? Take time to chill out and clear your head driving down the isolated Canadian roads, with the horror of the M25 being nothing but a distant memory.
Whether you prefer to splash the cash at one of the many shopping plazas, explore the rain forests or relax on a beach there is something for everyone in Malaysia.
As a nation made up of 80 Islands, there is plenty of opportunity to get stuck into some water sports whilst in Vanatu – kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, what ever takes your fancy. Or, for the less adventurous among us, relax with a spot of deep sea fishing or chill out at one of the many spas.
8) Sri Lanka
This vibrant country has a sublime mix of traditions new and old, providing the perfect holiday if you like a touch of adventure. Despite being such a small island there certainly is no shortage of fun and adventure. Static holidays spent at beach side resorts really do not do the island justice, we highly recommend touring in order to get the most out of your time spent in Sri Lanka.
